3) How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- Create and manage accounts and authenticate users
- Store, organize, and display your watch inventory, contacts, and related files (including serial numbers and certificate photos you upload)
- Respond to support requests and communicate with you about the Service (service notices, support responses, product updates)
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve performance, reliability, and user experience
- Protect the Service, our users, and the public (e.g., prevent fraud/abuse, enforce our terms)
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements
4) Legal Bases (if applicable)
Watch‑Vault is currently offered only in the United States. If we become subject to laws that require a legal basis for processing (e.g., GDPR/UK GDPR), we will process personal data under one or more bases such as:
- performance of a contract (to provide the Service),
- legitimate interests (security, improvement, analytics),
- consent (where you opt in, e.g., certain cookies/marketing),
- legal obligation.
5) How We Share Information
We may share information:
- With service providers that help us operate the Service (e.g., hosting, storage, email delivery, customer support tooling). These providers process information on our behalf and under our instructions.
- With integration partners when you enable them (as directed by you), if offered in the future
- For legal reasons if required to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect rights/safety
- In a business transfer (merger, acquisition, financing, sale of assets, or similar transaction)
- With your organization if you use an employer/organization-managed account (admins may be able to access and manage accounts)
We do not sell your personal information in the ordinary sense.
6) Cookies and Tracking
We may use cookies and similar technologies for:
- essential site functionality (login/session),
- preferences,
- analytics,
- security.
You can control cookies through browser settings and, where available, our cookie banner/settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect the Service’s functionality.
7) Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to:
- provide the Service and maintain your account,
- comply with legal obligations,
- resolve disputes,
- enforce agreements.
If you delete content (or request deletion), we will take reasonable steps to delete it from our active systems. Residual copies may persist for a limited period in backups or logs, and may be retained longer where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
We may retain and use aggregated or de-identified information for longer periods.
8) Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. Because the Service may store high-value asset information (e.g., watch serial numbers and certificate images), you should also take steps to protect your account and devices (e.g., strong passwords, secure email, and careful sharing of account access). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9) Your Rights and Choices (United States)
Depending on where you live in the U.S., you may have rights to:
- access, correct, or delete certain personal information,
- opt out of certain processing where applicable,
- appeal certain decisions (in some states).
To exercise rights, contact us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
10) International Data Transfers
We currently offer the Service only in the United States. If we transfer personal information across borders in the future, we will take steps to implement appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.
11) Children’s Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us at [email protected].
12) Third-Party Links and Services
The Service may link to third-party sites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their policies, not ours.
13) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and revise the “Last Updated” date. Material changes may be communicated through the Service or via email.
